ACADEMICS & STUDIES

The seminary ensures academic excellence to its best. It ensures that the best of teachers for classroom learning and coaching with state-of-the-art laboratories and libraries. The seminary also ensures that the students have enough time for personal studies, group studies and extra-curricula study sessions.

Overview

Classes

All Hallows Seminary has six classes: JSS1 A,B&C, JSS2 A,B&C, JSS3 A,B&C, SS1 A,B&C, SS2 A&B, SS3 A&B.We have qualified teachers with experience in the field of learning. They are always regular to classes and put in their best in the task.The subjects have been shared into departments which include: Pure Science Department, Social Science, Vocational / trade / entrepreneurship, Linguistics/Language. Before the end of each term the students take their exams which are conducted in well-spaced halls.

Our formators bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to their teaching, and they are passionate about helping our students grow in their faith and develop the skills they need to become effective ministers.

Academic policy

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE MAJOR THRUSTS OF THE MOST CURRENT ACADEMIC POLICY:

(A.) ONE FAILS THE TERM IF ONE FAILS:
1. Up to four subjects
2. English Language (credit) and two other subjects for SS II and SS III and three other subjects for JS I – SS I
3. Mathematics (credit) and two other subjects for SSII and SSIII and three other subjects for JS I – SS I.
4. Latin (pass) and two other subjects.
5. To secure at least a credit in both English and Mathematics

(B.) Without prejudice to the above second and third conditions, one may get Weak Pass if he fails to secure above ordinary pass (P) in either English language or Mathematics having fulfilled the above first five conditions.

(C.) ONE MAY BE PROMOTED TO THE NEXTCLASS IF: a) He passes at least two terms and annual

(D.) ONE MAY BE PROMOTED ON TRIAL TO THE NEXT CLASS IF
a) He passes at least two terms but fails the annual
b) Passes only one term and the annual

(E.) ONE MAY BE ASKED TO REPEAT A CLASS IF:
a) He passes only one term
b) He passes only the annual

(F.) ONE MAY BE ASKED TO WITHDRAW IF: a) He fails to pass at least a term or the annual
b) He repeats a class and fails to be promoted from the class to the next for the second time. Thus, a student is allowed to repeat a class only once.

(G.) IF ONE FAILS THE LATIN CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION USUALLY TAKEN IN SSII, HE IS TO REPEAT THE EXAMINTION THE FOLLOWING YEAR. SHOULD SUCH A PERSON FAIL AGAIN FOR THE SECOND TIME, HE MAY BE ASKED TO WITHDRAW.

(H.) SHOULD OTHER FACTUAL CONTIGENCIES NOT COVERED BY THIS POLICY ARISE, THEY SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE DISCRETION OF THE RECTOR.

GRADING SYSTEM FOR THOSE IN JSS1-SS1 GO THUS:
1- A (Excellent) 70 and above
2- C (Credit) 55 – 69
3- P (Pass) 45 – 54
4- F (Fail) 0 – 44

GRADING SYSTEM FOR THOSE IN SS2-SS3 GO THUS:
1- A (Excellent) 75 and above
2- C (Credit) 60 – 74
3- P (Pass) 50 – 59
4- F (Fail) 0 – 49

Physics/Biology Lab
Agriculture Lab
French Lab : Our French lab also serves as our French Library. Here, we have a gallery ofFrench texts and audio devices which serve as aids to the quick,Basic Technology workshop and I.C.T Laboratory. They are all fully equipped with modern devices for practical lessons.
I.C.T Lab : All Hallows Seminary has a fully equipped Information Communication Technology Laboratory where I.C.T classes are held. It is always available to the students who wish to hone their computer skills.

DAILY ACADEMIC/STUDIES TIME-TABLE

Chemistry Lab

We have a fully equipped Chemistry Laboratory where students conduct their scientific research. Here, Chemistry lessons are held and students have the opportunity to practice individually the theoretical aspects of the lessons

Physics/Biology Lab

We have a fully equipped Physics/Biology Laboratory where students engage in scientific research, experimentation and analysis. It is spacious and equipped enough to be used by a great number of students at a time.

Agric Lab

Here, we preserve some agro products and scientific equipments used in the study of Animals
