Welcome to All Hallows Seminary, the pioneer seminary in East Nigeria and a proud institution with a rich history of providing excellent theological education since 1924. Our seminary is dedicated to the formation of diocesan clergy who will serve both the Church and society with distinction.
As the present Rector of All Hallows Seminary, it is my pleasure to share with you the rich legacy of this institution, and the opportunities it offers for spiritual, intellectual and pastoral growth. Our seminary has trained many great men, both in the Church and in society, and our motto, “All Hallows Seminary: the home of the Humble and the Great,” reflects our commitment to form individuals who are humble yet capable of achieving great things.
All Hallows Seminary has come a long way since its establishment in 1924 by Bishop Joseph Shanahan and Rev. Fr. William O’Donnel. Our seminary has traveled to several locations before finally settling in its present site in Onitsha, Anambra State in 1952. Today, our seminary continues to offer a rigorous and well-rounded curriculum that combines the latest in theological and pastoral studies with a strong emphasis on spiritual formation.
