At All Hallows Seminary, Onitsha, we understand that maturity and formation are essential components of a well-rounded education and integral to the formation of future priests. As such, we have developed a comprehensive strategy of formation that focuses on both maturity and formation as a way to prepare our students for a lifetime of service to the Church and the wider community.
Our strategy of formation is built on the following pillars:
- Academic formation: We provide a rigorous academic program that includes courses in theology, philosophy, and other subjects that are essential for the formation of future priests. Our academic program is designed to challenge students to think critically and independently and to develop the knowledge and skills they need to serve as leaders in the Church.
- Spiritual formation: We have a strong spiritual formation program that is designed to help our students deepen their relationship with God and grow in their understanding of the Catholic faith. This includes daily mass, regular confession, rosary, adoration, retreats and spiritual direction.
- Human formation: We provide a variety of opportunities for personal and social growth and development, including extracurricular activities such as sports, music and cultural activities. These activities are designed to help our students develop their talents and interests, and to become well-rounded individuals.
- Pastoral formation: We provide practical experience in pastoral ministry through internship opportunities in parishes and diocesan institutions to help our students develop the skills and knowledge they need to serve as effective pastors.
- Community engagement: We encourage our students to be actively engaged in service to their local communities and to develop a sense of social responsibility. This is carried out through regular community service, outreach and charity initiatives.
Our strategy of formation is designed to help our students become mature individuals who are grounded in their faith, committed to serving others, and equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to make a positive impact in the world.
